Deborah James’ mum pays tribute on Instagram after £300k achievement

Deborah James’ proud mother, Heather, has praised her daughter after another huge achievement and shared the news on Instagram.

Heather, 64, took to social media after learning Deborah has sparked a new stimulus with Tesco.

From next month, the supermarket giant will print the signs of colon cancer on all of its toilet paper packs.

This comes after Andrex bosses promised to do the same on its packaging.

Tesco has also pledged a whopping £300,000 for Deborah’s Bowel Babe fund.

Bowel Gran’s Instagram tribute: ‘Well done Deborah’

Congratulating Deborah on her latest achievement, Heather wrote on Instagram: “Well done Deborah and a huge thank you to @tescofood for your support and £300,000 donation to the @bowelbabefund.”

Well done Debora.

Deborah’s fund, which she set up to raise money for cancer research, is currently worth £6.7million.

It comes after the 40-year-old lady enjoyed a day in the sun with Heather this week.

The mother and daughter were photographed enjoying a drink at a canalside pub near their home in Surrey.

Heather – who calls herself in support of Deborah Bowel Gran – shared the picture on her Instagram and wrote: “A lovely relaxing lunch in the sunshine.”

Their special time together came after a very difficult day for the James family.

A few days earlier, Deborah had said goodbye to her brother and his fiancée as they left for America.

The couple had booked the trip a long time ago and Deborah, who has end-stage colon cancer, insisted they didn’t cancel.

She also warned them not to return to England at worst.

Speaking to The Sun ahead of their departure, Deborah said: “He’s on holiday in the US.

“I told him they have to go, they’ve been planning the trip for ages. I also told him that he must not come back under any circumstances.

‘He says he’s coming home. It will be terrible to say goodbye to him. I can’t really think about that at the moment.”

Deborah, a married mother of two, was diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2016.

She has campaigned tirelessly throughout her illness to raise awareness of the disease, using the nickname Bowel Babe in the process.

But last month Deborah announced her treatment had ended and she was transferred to a home hospice.

Deborah also used her emotional announcement as an opportunity to start her Bowel Babe Fund.

Within hours she had raised millions and her bravery and efforts have garnered her a damehood ever since.
