Declan Rice and Ange Postecoglou have been nominated for the top honors of FIFA’s The Best awards

The nominations for FIFA’s The Best awards have been announced.
A total of 12 players are in the running to be crowned the best men’s player of 2023, including six Premier League players, including Arsenal’s Declan Rice.
Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva are all nominated by treble winners Manchester City and former captain Ilkay Gündogan.
Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia get the nod after leading Napoli to the Serie A title, while Marcelo Brozovic makes a surprise addition following Inter Milan’s run to the Champions League final.
There are also places for Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi as the Argentine aims to win the title for a third time.
The Best award is FIFA’s official ceremony and competes with the Ballon d’Or, for which 30 players were nominated earlier this month, including Jude Bellingham, Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and Martin Odegaard, all of whom won ” The Best” are missing.
Women’s World Cup Golden Ball winner Aitana Bonmati heads the list of nominees for best player, which includes England quartet Rachel Daly, Keira Walsh, Alex Greenwood and Lauren James.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has secured the title of best men’s coach after leading Celtic to a stunning domestic treble in his final season in Glasgow. Pep Guardiola, Xavi, Luciano Spalletti and Simone Inzaghi are also nominated.
England’s Sarina Wiegman and Chelsea coach Emma Hayes are named the best women’s coach on a shortlist that does not include former Spanish coach Jorge Vilda.
Mary Earps is the favorite to win the women’s goalkeeper title, while Ederson, Andre Onana, Yassine Bounou, Thibaut Courtois and Marc-Andre ter Stegen are in the running for the men’s title.
Fans will vote for the winners, with the official voting period running from after the World Cup in Qatar until August 20, 2023.
