Dog has to be put down after attacking girl outside Nisa on Norton Road
Cleveland Police officers and paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service were called to Nisa on Norton Road, Stockton, at around 6.30pm on Saturday, August 12, following reports of an animal attack.
5-year-old Farrah-Leigh Nichol was hospitalized with devastating facial injuries following the incident.
The girl is undergoing a skin graft on her left cheek while her parents, Danielle Kemp and Alex Nichol, are by her side in the hospital. On the Internet, they described the family’s ordeal as a “terrible nightmare.”

The community has rallied behind the teen and set up a crowdfunding page to fund a trip to Disneyland for her and her family once she recovers.
At the time, a Cleveland Police spokesman said: “Officers were on scene within minutes of receiving the report and provided medical assistance to the girl while waiting for the ambulance.”
“The girl suffered serious injuries to her face and is being treated in hospital.

“The dog’s owner remained at the scene following the attack and co-operated with police. The dog was confiscated.”
“We would politely ask people not to post any photos relating to the incident and to avoid speculation on social media while officers continue their investigation.”
On Monday (September 4), Cleveland Police released an update – police confirmed the dog will be killed.

In an update, a police spokesman said: “Officers are continuing to investigate a report that a five-year-old girl was attacked by a dog outside Nisa on Norton Road at around 6.30pm on Saturday, August 12.”
“The dog seized from the scene will be euthanized with the full cooperation of its owners.”
“The affected girl has now returned home from hospital to recover from her injury but will require further treatment in the future.”
The investigation is ongoing.”
