Dolly Parton Debuts Brand New Rock Song, And Slays The Electric Guitar, At Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction

What else is there to say about the only one Dolly Parton at this point?

She has achieved almost everything one can dream of in the field of country music, has founded several very successful companies, acted in Hollywood films, is active in giving back in all sorts of philanthropic endeavors, and is both a country and musical artist also a pop culture icon.

And honestly, I probably missed a few things in that description, but you get the point.

Last weekend she was officially admitted to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fameincluding some great achievements by countless artists in her honor, including Dolly herself.

To initially declining With the invitation, the country music legend was inducted as one of the members of the Class of 2022, along with the likes of Eminem, Duran Duran, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie and Carly Simon.

Judas Priest and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis received the Musical Excellence Award, Harry Belafonte and Elizabeth Cotten received the Early Influence Award, and Allen Grubman, Jimmy Iovine and Sylvia Robinson received the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

Dave Grohl, Mary J. Blige, Gwen Stefani, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo, Bruce Springsteen, Zac Brown, Brandi Carlile, Lenny Kravitz and more were available for introductions, presentations and performances… it was a star-studded night.

Dolly recently announced that she will be working on a rock album following this big announcement and during the show she debuted a brand new rock song which she will likely include on this record.

Not only that, she also smashed a stunning electric guitar on stage, announcing to the audience that she plans to earn her place there (which is partly why she initially declined the invitation), a few chords snapped AC/DC style and said:

“Well, I figured if I got into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I’d have to earn it.

And you thought I couldn’t rock!”

Is there another artist on the planet who would debut a new song in an entirely new genre upon their own induction into the Hall of Fame?

I do not think so …

Of course the song is great as Dolly essentially declares that her heart is and always will be for country music, but she also has a deep love for rock music.

She looks amazing and can still rule a room that’s nobody’s business, even one full of music royalty from all genres and generations.

I know she’s a humble woman who would never take credit for that, but we’ve all always known that she’s a true rock star, and here’s another reason why:
