The Bulldogs may be a No. 12 in the March Madness bracket, but they can’t be taken for granted. Finishing with a 9-1 record in the last 10 competitions, Drake has absolutely come through his conference tournament, beating his three opponents by an average of 13 points.
Leading this group is 6ft 7 tall student Tucker DeVries, who averages 19 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 1.8 APG. His backcourt colleague Roman Penn also has 12.6 PPG, 5.4 APG and 4.6 RPG. These two have a lot of chemistry and need to be at their best on Friday.

The Bulldogs are a very experienced team that takes excellent care of basketball. They cough out the rock just 9.8 times per game, which ranks in the nation’s top 20. Drake is also a fantastic three-point shooting team, consuming 37.3% of their triples.

Miami could be the key starter
The Hurricanes are the favorites but there’s a chance starter Norchad Omier won’t be able to play here. He’s dealing with an ankle injury. However, if Omier doesn’t suffer knockbacks before the tip, he will be available. Omier is a 13.6 PPG and 9.7 RPG average player. That will be difficult to replace.
Miami has had a very impressive season under head coach Jim Larranaga, finishing first in the ACC despite losing to the Blue Devils in the conference semifinals. It’s important to note that they haven’t lost a game in a row all year, which bodes well for Friday’s matchup. The Canes went 5-5 against teams in the field of 68 but suffered losses to Georgia Tech and Florida State.

Guard Isaiah Wong is the star of the show for Miami, leading the team with 16.2 points, 4.3 boards and 3.4 cents a night on 37% long-range shooting. He’s the king of clutch hits. Jordan Miller, his backcourt co-star, loses 15.3 points per contest.
The Hurricanes are deadly in transition, forcing mistakes and using their athleticism on the fastbreak. However, this can be difficult against a Drake squad that is anything but sloppy.
