The Duchess of Sussex will contribute a lemon and olive oil cake recipe to a forthcoming charity cookbook.

Meghan is among a host of celebrities who will contribute to Spanish chef and founder of non-profit organization World Central Kitchen (WCK) Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen Cookbook.

Meghan’s contribution to the cookbook was confirmed in a post on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell website on Tuesday, which read: “This weekend, Chef Jose Andres, longtime friend and partner of the Archewell Foundation, announced the forthcoming release of ‘The World’ an Central Kitchen Cookbook: Feeding Mankind, Feeding Hope.’

“The cookbook is a compelling collection of stories and recipes from renowned chefs, local chefs and friends of the global nonprofit that feeds communities affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

“All proceeds from the author will support WCK’s emergency response efforts and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is proud to have contributed a recipe.

“In March 2021, the Duchess sent a lemon and olive oil cake featured in the book to a group of restaurateurs who have partnered with WCK to provide meals to their community during the pandemic.”

The book, which will be published by Penguin Random House, will also include a recipe from former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Former President Barack Obama’s wife has provided a breakfast tacos recipe for the book, which is due out in the US in September.

Actress and author Ayesha Curry and a variety of chefs from around the world including Guy Fieri, Sanjeev Kapoor and Brooke Williamson also share recipes that will feature in the book.

WCK is an organization that provides meals to those in need after natural disasters.

It was founded by Andres in 2010 after the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti.

Meghan has previously worked on the charity cookbook Together: Our Community Cookbook with The Hubb Community Kitchen, which was founded by women displaced by the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017.

She contributed a foreword to the cookbook, which featured 50 recipes from the west London community.
