Virginia Cavaliers: Will Defense Conference Championships Win?

The Virginia Cavaliers have decimated the NCAA tournament hopes of two conference rivals over the past two days. First, they ended the tournament hopes of the North Carolina Tar Heels, then followed by dealing a crushing blow to the Clemson Tigers’ tournament hopes. While they can’t eliminate Duke from tournament competition, they can win a conference title on Saturday night.

Virginia’s defense was at its most brutal during the ACC tournament. They have conceded 57.5 points per game to teams playing for their tournament life. While Duke will be harder to contain on defense, the Cavaliers proved more than capable with their play in Greensboro.
