Lafayette’s beloved Dustin, The Diamond, Poirier has climbed the UFC rankings over the past two years and is getting ever closer to hoisting that championship belt. Poirier fought McGregor in a rematch in December 2020 in which he would win by TKO. The two would make it a tribology as they would fight again in July 2021, resulting in another Poirier TKO victory. Poirier would then get a shot at champion Charles Oliveira, which Poirier would lose by submission.
