It was a miracle to see how everything unfolded with him Damar Hamelin situation in the past week.
After watching Bill’s security collapse on the field after he went into cardiac arrest following a tackle, medical trainers were able to revive him on the field and took him to the hospital where, according to his uncle, doctors had to resuscitate him.
Needless to say, it was a horrific situation and no one was sure Hamlin would be able to survive this devastating scene.
However, he was able to improve every day and recovered enough to be discharged from the hospital and sent back to Buffalo, where he is still recovering in the hospital.
As terrifying as it was, it was incredible to see just about everyone in America rallying together to flood Hamlin and his family with their thoughts and prayers, and now that the 24-year-old is doing well, this will go down as one one of the biggest comeback stories in the NFL, if not THE biggest.
That being said, there will be changes in the sport from now on as well.
If you’re a sports fan, then there’s a good chance you’ve watched a game and seen one player perform fake CPR on another player in celebration.
Alex Highsmith and another player in the Pittsburgh Steelers defense recently came under fire for conducting that exact CPR celebration Sunday night after Highsmith fired Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Bad timing folks…
The popular NFL video game Madden also has this celebration in its games.
However, Madden has announced that they will be removing the celebration entirely from Madden 23 in the next few days, according to CBS sports.
A spokesman for EA Sports told the outlet that they are in the process of removing the celebration from the game now:
“EA Sports is taking steps to remove the celebration from Madden NFL 23 via an update in the coming days.”
Of course, this is probably for the best considering the traumatic scene so many witnessed last Monday night, so props to Madden for moving on and making the move.
