Emmerdale fans want Meena return as 50th anniversary celebrations begin

Emmerdale fans have been urging the soap opera bosses to bring Meena Jutla back for the soap’s 50th anniversary in October.

Meena, played by Paige Sandhu in the long-running drama, was last seen in April as she began her life sentence for her murder spree.

Emmerdale took to social media today to announce the start of her birthday celebrations.

And her post of a very realistic Woolpack cake saw fans of the killer nurse demand she be brought back for fun.

Will Meena Jutla return to Emmerdale?

“Bring Meena back,” one person instructed her sternly.

Another echoed the sentiments, only a little more politely, and turned it into a request: “Bring Meena back?”

And a third Twitter user believes Meena’s return is a foregone conclusion. They wrote, “But when the special starts in October, Meena will be back.”

Meena shot down a total of three villagers during her time in the Dales, Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker.

Before arriving in Emmerdale in 2020, Meena had also killed her best friend, Nadine Butler.

Which was a shame because Butler and Jutla would have made a name for themselves with a new business venture in the village.

The psychotic killer also made attempts on the lives of Victoria Sugden, Priya Sharma and Dawn Taylor.

Why wasn’t Meena killed?

She made enemies of the Dingles after letting Liv Flaherty go to prison for Ben’s murder.

Meena also tried to kill her own sister Manpreet Sharma last Christmas when the medic found out the truth about the protracted bloodbath.

Ever since Meena was sent downstairs, fans have been convinced Emmerdale bosses didn’t kill her for any particular reason.

And the reason was so she could come back and wreak havoc during the 50th anniversary week.

It was even hinted that Meena might already have an escape plan ready.

She had bribed her security guard Ian and flirted with him. Could he really have helped her escape this time?

Speculation began again in July when it was reported that Paige had turned down offers to star in reality shows.

In an interview with The Mirror, she said: “I’ve been offered reality shows but I can’t say which ones – and I don’t do it.”

This caused fans to storm Twitter, which sure means Meena is set to have a part in the soap’s big week.

One Emmerdale fan said: “The warped, evil Meena is coming back for revenge in October during the show’s big 50th anniversary week.

“I’m calling. She will escape from prison!”

A second said: “Since they’ve done everything they can think of with Meena there’s a good chance she’ll come back on the 50th with a ridiculous escape plan and then probably kill #Emmerdale.”

Another added: “I think Meena will escape prison and come back and wreak havoc and murder for the 50th anniversary.”

Emmerdale normally airs weekdays at 19:30 on ITV, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
