England XI vs Scotland: Confirmed team news, expected lineup and injury latest today

England coach Gareth Southgate will keep experimentation to a minimum for tonight’s friendly against Scotland.
The backbone of Southgate’s team is expected to remain the same, with Jordan Pickford, Harry Maguire, Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane all likely to retain their places from Saturday’s 1-1 qualifying draw with Ukraine .
Kieran Trippier is the only backup full-back in the squad and will therefore certainly replace either Kyle Walker or Ben Chilwell, most likely the former, while Lewis Dunk, Levi Colwill and Fikayo Tomori are all vying for a centre-back spot.
Brighton’s Dunk could get the nod alongside Maguire.
The inclusion of Jordan Henderson against Ukraine was controversial but he is a contender for elimination, with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher likely ahead of Kalvin Phillips, who is struggling for minutes at Manchester City.
James Maddison failed to shine in his first competitive start against Ukraine in Wroclaw, meaning Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden were deployed on the left wing.
Predicted England XI (4-3-3): Pickford; Trippier, Dunk, Maguire, Chilwell; Rice, Gallagher, Bellingham; Saka, Kane, Rashford
Injuries: Alexander Arnold, Grealish, Mount, Shaw, James, Stones
Time and date: 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2022
Venue: Hampden Park
