The 2023 Epsom Derby takes place today with an earlier start than usual for the biggest race of the British Flat season.
The rather frantic headlines leading up to the Derby Festival, with trains on strike, the FA Cup final taking place and even the threat of a mid-race protest, marred preparations for one of horseracing’s biggest spectacles.
Aidan O’Brien’s Auguste Rodin is the favorite for the title.
How to watch the Epsom Derby 2023
TV channel: ITV1 will show live coverage of the derby as well as a support race. Coverage begins at 12:30pm BST and the derby is scheduled for 1:30pm.
Coverage of the FA Cup final then begins at 2.05pm, after which ITV’s derby coverage is transferred to ITV4.
Eight races are scheduled, beginning with the Betfred Diomed Stakes at 12.50pm and culminating in the JRA Tokyo Trophy Handicap at 5.05pm.
