New Delhi: Founder of , Falguni Nayar has overtaken Kiran Mazumdar to become the richest self-made Indian, according to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022 released on Wednesday.

59-year-old Nayar sped past

‘s Shaw (68) following the successful listing of Omnichannel Nykaa’s parent company, FSN E-Commerce Ventures.

Nayar is also the richest woman in the country, followed by Rekha Jhunjhunwala of Rare Enterprises, the company founded by her husband and veteran investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.

Falguni Nayar & family’s wealth increased by Rs 30,000 crore over the year and their cumulative wealth increased by 345 per cent to stand at around Rs 38,700 crore, according to the data.

Among the top 10 gainers in terms of wealth increase, Nayar was fifth and was the only woman on the list. She followed the likes of Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani and Cyrus S. Poonawalla.

Nayar, meanwhile, was second in terms of Indians registering the largest percentage increase in wealth (up 345 percent), behind Ravi Modi

(Manyavar), whose wealth has increased by 376 percent.

Nayar and Modi entered the top 100 names in IIFL Wealth Hurun Rich 2022 after their companies debuted on Dalal Street and unlocked value for them.
