Who’s ready for some gumbo?
A strong cold front is forecast to advance further south early next week and overnight temperatures could be in the upper 50’s in most parts of Acadiana.
As a potential hurricane heads into the Gulf of Mexico next week, this strong cool front is expected to hold off any storm far east of Louisiana.
Still, our watch should still be up, but most consistent models show a Gulf storm well east of Louisiana next week.
So how cool is it going to be early next week? Early forecasts put daytime temperatures in the upper 80s, but nighttime temperatures here might call for the gumbo pots or fire pits.
We will continue to monitor the situation in the Gulf this weekend and any updates will be available here and via this station’s mobile app.
Autumn officially started on September 22nd.
