The Phoenix Suns shocked the Golden State Warriors Tuesday night despite Steph Curry’s return from injury. The Suns were big and had to hold off a furious Warriors rally to claim a 125-113 win. Fans reacted to the defending champions’ loss to the Suns, who were without their best players.
Curry had a tough shooting night with 24 points from 22 shots after missing 11 games with a shoulder injury. The Suns, meanwhile, were missing Devin Booker, Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton. They were also without key role players like Landry Shamet and Cameron Payne.
Mikal Bridges led Phoenix with 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Former Warriors player Damion Lee had 22 points off the bench, while starting point guard Duane Washington Jr. had 21 points. The Suns are now 3-0 against the defending champions this season.
Fans reacted to the Suns’ upset victory over the Golden State Warriors. Some poked fun at the Warriors’ loss to the “G League” Suns, while others blamed the umpires for poor decisions throughout the game. The Warriors fans were very disappointed with their team’s performance.
Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter:
“pCott Foster had 20 points 10 assists for the Suns today.”
“My level of frustration with the Warriors this season is at an all-time high”
“There’s no way you lost to the G-League suns”
“Suns just beat a healthy warrior team with no Cp3, DBook and Ayton LMAO CURRY THE PROBLEM”
“Pretty sure Suns are 3-0 against Warriors this season”
“We should have struggled like that in the beginning, especially in Q3. We need to stop thinking that we can pull off a miracle in every game in Q4. Please let these last three games be a lesson.”
“The suns are a sympathetic team without these scams”
“We just weren’t lucky today. What would have happened if half of the missed threes Steph made came in? But I’m happy to see S30 back on the floor. Our defense in the 4th quarter was AMAZING! A lot solid. Salute to Wiggins.”
“To be fair, Curry and Wiggins are still rusty. Congratulations to the great game the Suns played. Warriors will be fine.”
“Warriors haven’t been the same since Gary Payton left”
