Fans toast Giannis Antetokounmpo for his 7-point game against Hawks

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo received some strange reactions on social media after Wednesday night’s game in Atlanta. Antetokounmpo scored a double-double with seven points and NBA fans sent hysterical reactions to the statline’s oddity.

The Milwaukee Bucks walked away with a win over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. The 114-109 contest saw impressive performances from the Bucks players. However, one thing in particular stood out.

Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo hit a highly unusual statline that night. Antetokounmpo racked up seven points with 18 rebounds and 10 assists, and oddly secured a double-double.

Although the “Greek Freak” is known for being one of the most dominant players in the game, Giannis struggled to shoot off the floor against Atlanta. Given that Clint Capela didn’t play for the Hawks, this was particularly odd, to say the least.

However, Antetokounmpo still managed to win the game for Milwaukee by acting as a decoy and handing the ball around. That’s not what you’d expect from someone considered one of the best in the league, though.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has earned a reputation as one of football’s most consistent and efficient goalscorers, certainly shocked fans with that performance.

Fans on Twitter took note of this achievement and sent some hilarious reactions to the game. Here are some of the best:

Giannis said this to Serge and then turned into the player he called Serge 😭

@espn There’s no way the media is exaggerating Giannis after a 7-point game. I have seen everything.

@espn That’s why he’s the MVP, has the night off and still has a double-double 😀🐐

@espn It just goes to show that Giannis, even if he doesn’t score, is a big asset on the pitch πŸ’€πŸ’€ngl many other players can’t say that

@espn How we hype in the middle

@espn If Tatum had 7 points, he would be the most hated person on Twitter

@statmuse He’s out of the best conversation in the world now

@statmuse Giannis is always hated but if Jokic had that statline he would be the MVP lmfao

@statmuse LMAOOO 7 dots in your “prime number”?? LMFOAOO

Giannis received a lot of criticism after the performance. While there was some praise for finding ways to contribute to the team’s success, fans were ruthless in their analysis.

As a superstar in the league, a night of single-figure goals against a team that lacks definitive inside strength is disappointing. While there are ways to sugarcoat this with the rebounds and assists, Antetokounmpo underperformed.

This may seem unique, but the Milwaukee Bucks have cause for concern. Due to wild inconsistencies in performance, the Bucks may want to address some issues Giannis may have, if any.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been inconsistent in the last 5 games

The last five games for the Milwaukee Bucks have seen ridiculous ups and downs for Giannis Antetokounmpo. While the lows have been discussed at great length, the highs have also received quite a bit of attention.

Giannis received a lot of praise for his career-best 55 point performance against the Washington Wizards. Giannis looked like the player he was meant to be and literally dominated. He followed that up with an equally solid 30-point double-double against the Toronto Raptors in the following game.

At this point, however, the paradigm changed drastically.

In the game against the Charlotte Hornets, Giannis had just nine points and four rebounds in 22 minutes. The next game against the New York Knicks was rather mediocre in this regard. Antetokounmpo recorded a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Milwaukee to victory.

This paved the way for Wednesday night’s performance in Atlanta. Needless to say, there is some negative momentum at work here. While this isn’t a pressing issue considering Milwaukee is still winning, they should be cautious in their approach to Giannis Antetokounmpo at this point.
