‘Fat motherf***er” Daniel Cormier responds as Nate Diaz lashes out at him on Twitter

Nate Diaz and Daniel Cormier’s relationship has taken an awkward turn after the former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion was forced to respond after the Stockton native’s tweet prompted Cormier to use the “OG,” aka the original gangsters to respect

Recently, ‘DC’ has received a lot of backlash from current and former UFC fighters, with more competitors speaking publicly against him in a negative light. The fighter-turned-commentator has been criticized for his views on certain athletes and with the TUF 5 Winner it seems to have reached a boiling point.

Diaz posted the tweet below, even calling Cormier a “fat motherf***er.”

During the exchange on Twitter, Nate Diaz shot Daniel Cormier, forcing the Hall of Famer to defend himself, which he did in a professional manner:

“Nathan relax”

While it’s not entirely clear why sparks flew between the two, Diaz may have been annoyed by Cormier’s comments after UFC 279 and his dismissive manner of the 37-year-old’s octagon skills.

The wrestler insisted that if the fight had taken place on September 10, Khamzat Chimaev would have mauled Nate. Despite being mostly negative about welterweight, the Olympian eventually admitted that without him in the roster, the UFC would be a little worse off, saying:

“Nate Diaz can do whatever he wants, Starpower, but Nate Diaz not fighting Khamzat was a godsend. That’s literally the best case scenario for him… I consider what happened last weekend for Nate Diaz as the best case scenario… I’m going to sit here and say this without a shadow of a doubt, he would lose to Khamzat Chimaev, and he would badly lose the ability to stop the guy from doing what he’s doing.”

Check out what Cormier said to potentially spark a back-and-forth with Diaz in the video below:

What’s next for Nate Diaz?

According to Daniel Cormier, Diaz will be looking to work for his upcoming martial arts promotion Real Fight Inc., but what other options does he have?

The 170-pounder is one of the most popular competitors in mixed martial arts and would likely be welcomed almost anywhere in the world, with a number of places still possible for him.

Diaz vs. Jake Paul is definitely in the works, but a move to another MMA promotion or a venture into the world of competitive jiu-jitisu could also be on the cards for the star.
