On Friday night, two conference tournament champions will face off in an intriguing 8/9 match between the Memphis Tigers (26-8 SU, 17-16-1 ATS) and the Florida Atlantic Owls (31-3 SU, 21-10-1 ATS) on. . These two teams play in the East Region of the March Madness Bracket. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET.
Memphis joins March Madness as one of the hottest teams in college basketball. Fresh from an American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, they have now won nine of their last 11 games, including beating Houston, the No. 1 seed in the AAC title game. Winning streaks are no stranger to the Owls, however, having won ten of their last eleven. FAU ranks first in the nation with 31 wins this season.

This 8/9 match should be close as Memphis is only favored by two points. Memphis is only 11-14-1 against the spread as a favorite this season, and FAU is 3-2 against the spread as an underdog. Plenty of points are also expected on Friday night as the total is set at 153 points.

Memphis vs. Florida Atlantic Betting Splits
From a spread betting perspective, tickets strongly favor Memphis. 72% of the bets are on Memphis-2, but only 48% of the handle goes to the Tigers. Conversely, only 28% of bets are on FAU +2, with 52% of Thursday morning handles supporting the owls. 74% of bets are also placed on the Memphis Moneyline.
Looking at the grand total, 38% of over/under bets are over. 80% of this grip believe this case will score more than 153 points.

Florida Atlantic vs Memphis Prediction
This game should come on the wire as the spread indicates. Memphis powers up after their win over Houston, but Florida Atlantic doesn’t seem to get enough love to be a 30-plus team. The Tigers will be their most talented opponents yet, but the Owls have the talent and size to stay in this game.
One mistake for Memphis was their offensive rebound, and March will show that. With Vladislav Goldin, FAU has the advantage of size. Goldin is averaging just under seven boards a game and will have another big game Friday night. With the Tigers unable to acquire additional possessions, the Owls are able to play at their pace and give them an advantage in a thrilling March Madness match.
