Fears are growing for missing Leila, 10, who was last seen in Acomb, York
North Yorkshire Police say there is growing concern for Leila, who was reported missing by her family this afternoon (Tuesday 16 May) when she failed to return from school.
The population is asked to report possible sightings and information immediately.
Leila was last seen on Woodlea Avenue in the Acomb neighborhood of York at 4pm on Tuesday, police said.
A police spokesman added: “Both Leila’s family and the police have conducted extensive investigations to find her.”
“However, there are growing concerns for her safety and she is at risk because of her age.”
Leila has red shoulder-length hair, is slim and wears glasses.
She wears her school uniform with a blue collared polo shirt, a lime green coat with flowers, a glittery silver backpack and knee-length socks.
The police spokesman added, “Officers continue to search for her in and around the city, visiting known friends and places she has been.”
