A 31-year-old federal offender with a tattooed face is wanted after violating his statutory release for the second time this year.
The province’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) team says Michael Stamatakos – formerly of North York – is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
“The offender is known to frequent areas of Toronto,” said a statement released by the OPP on Wednesday.
Stamatakos and another man were arrested in November 2020 after threatening the owner of a trailer they lived in at a property owned by the victim in Marmora – about 60km east of Peterborough.
The two men set the trailer on fire and drove off in a vehicle, but OPP and Peterborough police officers later stopped the vehicle on the highway using a spike belt. 7 near Norwood – halfway between Marmora and Peterborough.
The two men were arrested and when officers searched the vehicle they found cannabis, methamphetamine and a replica firearm.

Stamatakos was later convicted of various crimes.
According to the ROPE Squad, he is currently serving a two-year sentence for arson of property, dangerous operation of a conveyance, fleeing a peace officer, uttering a threat to cause death or bodily harm and possession of a Schedule I substance.
Stamatakos was also wanted by the ROPE Squad for violating his statutory release in February.
He was “unlawfully at large” for three weeks before being arrested by Hamilton police.
Stamatakos is described as white, 1.70 meters tall, weighing 55 kilograms, with a shaved head and brown eyes.
He has most of his face covered in tattoos, including a heart, a teardrop, and a stitch mark on his left cheek and a stitch mark on his right cheek. His other tattoos include “SD KEYZ” on his right calf, “THE WORLD IS MINE” on his left hand, and “SPARTON” on the right side of his neck, to name a few.
