FIFA 23 NWSL Player Ratings: USWNT Stars Dominate

EA Sports has confirmed that all National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) teams will be added to a FIFA video game for the first time, after announcing that 12 clubs will join the FIFA 23 roster this month. And now it has unveiled its top-rated players in the league, with a list dominated by players from the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT).

The latest installment in the FIFA franchise already features more women’s teams and players than ever before, with the NWSL now joining the Women’s Super League (the top division of women’s football in England) and Division 1 Feminine (France) before the new campaign begins on 25 .March.

All 12 NWSL clubs, four stadiums and all required kits, trophies and celebrations will be added as part of an expansion that will be available on all platforms starting March 15th. Teams are then available in Kick-Off, Tournament, Head of the Match -Head Seasons, Co-op Seasons and Online Friendlies.

To further fuel the upcoming launch, EA Sports has unveiled the full list of FIFA 23 player ratings for each NWSL player. Currently the highest rated player in FIFA 23 is Alexia Putellas from Barcelona and Spain who has a 92 overall rating in the base game.

At the age of 37, Orlando Pride attacking midfielder and Brazilian legend Marta has fallen from a career-high 89 (in FIFA 18) to 84 in FIFA 23. In fact, she is the six-time 84-rated FIFA World Player of the Year, on par with veteran and Canadian stalwart Christine Sinclair, who at age 39 is entering her 11th season with Portland Thorns.

USWNT prodigy Trinity Rodman, 20, boasts an impressive 83 rating – noting that the fleet-footed Washington Spirit winger has the second-highest pace rating in the entire NWSL.

But how do your favorite NWSL stars compare to the best of the best?

Franch is one of three goalies with the same rating, having proved reliable between the posts for Kansas City last season. The USWNT backup stopper made 20 starts and conceded 25 goals.

The determined USWNT goaltender, No. 1 for club and country, conceded just 19 goals in 22 appearances for the Red Stars in the 2022 NWSL regular season.

A fixture of the Canada national team for many years, Sheridan shares first place in the goaltender rankings after conceding just 17 goals in 18 games and finishing third in the Wave in the NSWL season.

USWNT captain Sauerbrunn is the highest-rated NWSL center back in FIFA 23, having guided the Thorns to the NWSL Championship win last season and also having a treble of sorts with the club last season (Challenge Cup, International Champions Cup and NWSL Shield) had won year.

One of the most recognizable stars in international women’s soccer, USWNT veteran Rapinoe was there with seven goals and four assists in 14 games for Reign as they clinched the 2022 NWSL Shield by finishing first overall in the regular season.

Another USWNT veteran, Press was limited to just eight appearances in her debut season with Angel City due to lingering knee injuries after returning to the NSWL from a brief stint with Manchester United. Still, the 34-year-old forward managed to contribute two goals and an assist.

With 87 caps and 32 goals for the USWNT aged just 24, Swanson has already proven a prolific goalscorer at both club and international level, scoring 11 goals in 16 league games for the Red Stars in the 2022 season.

Sophia Smith, FW, Portland Thorns (87)

The 22-year-old USWNT forward, the second-top scorer in the 2022 NSWL season, scored 14 goals in 18 games for the Thorns. This earned her the title of MVP of the Season, while on the international stage she was also named USA Player of the Year.

A hardworking and experienced central midfielder with 87 caps for the USWNT, Lavelle scored five goals in 17 games and provided an assist for Reign on their quest to win the 2022 NWSL Shield.

One of only four players to score a hat-trick in the 2022 NWSL season, Brazil international Debinha scored 12 goals and provided four assists for North Carolina Courage before joining Kansas City as a free agent in January.

Alex Morgan, FW, San Diego Wave (90)

Another enduring presence for the USWNT, Morgan restored her credentials in 2022 by becoming the top scorer with 15 goals in just 17 games for the Wave. The two-time world champion was also the only player to score four goals in a single game, earning a quadruple victory in her side’s 4-0 win over bottom NJ/NY Gotham in May.
