First images of Boat Story released, filmed on Redcar Beach
BBC bosses say the thriller, titled ‘Boat Story’, promises ‘twists’, ‘high frequency action sequences’ and ‘offbeat humour’.
The broadcaster has released the first images of its new drama series Boat Story, which featured a stranded boat and film crews on Redcar Beach last fall.

In “Boat Story,” unsuspecting leads Janet and Samuel – played by Daisy Haggard and Paterson Joseph – discover a shipment of illegal drugs found on a shipwreck.

The couple can’t believe their luck when they agree to sell it and split the money. But on their heels is a sharply dressed gangster named The Tailor, played by Tchéky Karyo, who played Julien Baptiste in the drama of the same name.
No release date has been announced, but Boat Story will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, as well as Amazon Freevee in the US and Germany.

A BBC spokesman said: “At its core, Boat Story is an action thriller about two ordinary people who have turned their backs on the world and whether they are willing – or desperate enough – to do something crazy to get what they want want.” in life.
“Can they trust each other and get away with their lives and money when pushed to the limits of their strength?
“Boat Story embodies twists and turns with character-driven, surprising storytelling. Offbeat humor contrasts with fast-paced action sequences set against the spectacular backdrop of the beautiful windswept coastline.”

BAFTA winners Joanna Scanlan, Craig Fairbrass and Phil Daniels also follow the rules of the series, which comes from a team involved in a variety of gripping dramas including The Tourist and Liar.

Last November, confused locals discovered the stranded propeller fishing boat on Redcar Beach after it was lowered by a crane.
Film crews were spotted using state-of-the-art equipment, including drones.
