Fishermen Go Bonkers Netting A Fish Half A Second Before A Shark Steals Their Catch

It can be incredibly difficult to reel in a massive fish when deep sea fishing.

And what could be even more difficult than that?

Try to catch one when your opponent is a bloodthirsty shark.

Video footage of a couple of young men deep sea fishing is circulating.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly as they had a nice big fish on the line and wanted to get it on board right away…

Until it wasn’t.

Right at the beginning of the video you can see a shark quickly swimming right under the boat trying to grab the fish. The fish on the line manages to avoid the shark while the fisherman keeps catching it.

When the fishermen start freaking out, they immediately get back to work and fight as hard as they can to keep the fish, and they actually emerge victorious.

In less than a second they manage to catch the fish with the net and pull it out of danger onto the boat.

Of course, the whole boat is going crazy.

Listen:

Some fishermen aren’t quite so lucky though…

Shark steals mackerel straight from fishing line

That’s unlucky.

I mean, it’s about as cool as it gets, but losing a beautiful fish, especially to another animal, always hurts a bit.

It wouldn’t be the devastation of just walking off the hook and wondering what you did wrong over the next hour, but it would still hurt.

The ocean is a place of the unknown and unexpected. The more time you spend there, the more wild stuff you will see. For me, I’m fine…when I’m in the water, I feel like a fish out. Every day of the week a shark had his way with me.

Getting that close is pretty wild.

This group of fishermen in Australia were out for a fun-filled day when one of them hooked on a beautiful Spanish mackerel. He has a good fight with it but puts it straight in the boat. His mate tries to gape but misses, causing the fish to retreat for a short run.

Just as he gets it rolled back up, you quickly see a shark appear staring straight at the fish. It takes flight and gets a few quick bites when it comes to taking the fish right off the line.

If they hadn’t missed the gaff the first time, he would have been in the boat.

But then again, you wouldn’t have such a good story…
