As New Orleans Saints fans prepared to cheer on Black & Gold against the Bucs last weekend, the #WhoDatNation received unfortunate news from a legendary former player.

Former Saint Steve Gleason of New Orleans has been hospitalized

We shared the news that Steve Gleason was hospitalized Saturday after receiving a health update from former New Orleans Saints security.

After a nearly week-long bout of relentless hiccups, which doctors believed could be early signs of pneumonia, Gleason was officially hospitalized following an emergency room visit.

The former Saint kept everyone updated with updates on Twitter.

Luckily for Gleason and all his loved ones, that hospital stay was short, according to the latest update.

Check out the latest from @SteveGleason on Twitter below.

According to Gleason, he was released yesterday. Gleason even joked on Twitter that he plans to sneak out of the hospital to watch the Saints game.

While the outcome of the game may not have been what Gleason wanted, I think everyone is just happy to have this heroic saint back home and in good spirits.
