Fox News Reporter Makes Stinging Observation About Biden’s ‘Response’ to Border Patrol Death

Boundary issues are no stranger to Bill Melugin. He has reported extensively for Fox News on the US-Mexico border, federal border policy, and border-related DC policy, and he knows the people and principles involved.
So when the Los Angeles-based national correspondent says he has an “observation” on recent events on and around America’s southern border, smart people stop.
Which, of course, he did last night in a tweet about President Joe Biden’s inattention to the border and the men and women who protect it.
“An observation on the declining morale of the Border Patrol,” he wrote on Twitter. “A day after the President said the border was not important enough to visit, a BP agent dies on duty. I haven’t seen any reaction from the White House regarding his death.”
Yes, that would probably work. But Melugin wasn’t finished yet.

On Tuesday, during a visit to North Phoenix to “highlight Arizona’s high-tech manufacturing industry,” President Joe Biden was asked why he hadn’t visited the US-Mexico border since he was only a few hundred miles away.
“There are more important things,” Biden replied, according to KNXV-TV. “They will invest billions of dollars in new businesses.”
Biden has been gutted across social media for this reaction, but perhaps nowhere more prominently than on the account of the union, which represents the men and women who work day and night to secure this border and American interests, territorial integrity and even to defend life.

The following day, a Border Patrol officer was killed in an ATV accident, marking the second fatality on duty in Customs and Border Protection in three weeks, the agency confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“The death of an agent who died while securing our country’s border is a tremendous loss to our organization and our country. Our prayers are with his family and associates at this difficult time,” CBP said.
“However, the White House has not released a statement acknowledging the untimely death of the border patrol agent, nor did White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre address the incident at Wednesday’s news briefing,” TheBlaze reported Thursday.
As for the flogging, Western Journal readers will recall that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was informed that the photographer who photographed mounted Border Patrol agents in 2021 said long ago that he and his colleagues did not Migrants were seen being flogged, according to emails received by The Heritage Foundation.
The incident, which took place on Sept. 19 when thousands of Haitian migrants illegally crossed the border into Del Rio, Texas, overwhelmed border patrol officers at the scene.
Images circulating of the incident showed the mounted border guards, who have since been cleared of the flogging charges, attempting to address the situation by using the horses’ reins to push the migrants back; Many commentators claimed the agents were “whipping” the migrants.
A DHS colleague sent an email to Mayorkas, including a news interview with the photographer who captured the incident, and said he had no one from Border Patrol agents, according to Fox News, which first reported emails on Sept. 24, 2021 see flogging a Freedom of Information Act request.
“The photographer behind the images, which show Border Patrol agents on horseback, told KTSM that things are not exactly what they seem when it comes to the photos,” the message read, which was released by the assistant secretary for DHS Public Affairs, Marsha Espinosa, was sent to Mayorkas. according to to Fox News.
“The photos caused outrage because, from certain angles, they appear to show border police flogging migrants, but photographer Paul Ratje said he and his colleagues never saw agents flogging anyone,” the message continued.
Do you think Biden is intentionally keeping our border open?
For Mayorkas, the images reminded him of “systemic racism,” he said at a White House news conference just hours after receiving the email, according to Fox News. Mayorkas also responded to the photographer’s statements, saying the situation “appalled the nation”.
“The horses have long reins and the image in the photo that we’ve all seen and that has horrified the nation has raised serious questions about what … happened and as I said very clearly, it has images of that conjuring up what happened in the past,” Mayorkas said at the time, according to Fox News.
“There’s also the question of how to use the horse and how to interact with the horse,” he said, according to Fox News. “And that’s why I’m letting the investigation run.”
Several Democrat politicians accused the agents of “whipping” some of the migrants. The White House also repeatedly condemned the agents.
National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd said the Biden administration’s knowledge of the photographer’s report and their subsequent statements “prove” they “don’t care about the truth,” he told the Daily Caller News Foundation .
“You certainly don’t want the American public to know the truth,” Judd said. “You specifically withheld facts from the American people in order for the narrative to move forward.”
“They knew it wouldn’t matter that the truth would come out later,” he added. “Because they know the media won’t cover it. So they went ahead with a completely false story, misrepresented facts and misled the American public. That should not be tolerated by the President of the United States.”
And it’s not, except by Democrats. This, of course, includes most of the mainstream media, which Americans still too often foolishly rely on for the truth.
