Frankie Dettori interview: “I’ve been doing this for 36 years… I’m not ready to let go”

During what was supposed to be his final season, Dettori continued to build on his tally, including Classic wins in his final Epsom Oaks and 2000 Guineas rides. How has this year of incessant “lasting” been? “Oh, terrible!” he says, laughing. “Stressful! When I said I was retiring, I thought things would calm down. I had twice the workload. It was hard work, it was emotional. But I’m human, what do you expect ?”
