Fryers Butchers, which opened in Horsefair, Boroughbridge last year, has announced on social media that it will close this Saturday.
The retailer wrote: “Sorry to say this but it’s our last week of this week…”
“We are closing our doors on Saturday 10 June around 12pm.
“We still have stock in the fridges and freezers that we’re going to be clearing out, so come by to grab a bargain and say goodbye to us.”

The Facebook post continued, “It was not a decision we made lightly. We always knew that opening would be challenging due to the global and national situation and unfortunately this time the operating costs have overwhelmed us and are unsustainable.
“Thank you to all of our wonderful customers for your support and we are sorry that we can no longer serve the wonderful community of Boroughbridge.
“Thank you and goodbye from the Fryers Butchers team.”
Customers had rated the shop on Facebook with 5 stars.
At the opening last September it said: “The company is owned by Charles Fryer. Charles and his family have their own farm about 7 miles from the shop and raise their own cattle and pigs so we really know where our produce is coming from.”
