The Facebook post continued, “It was not a decision we made lightly. We always knew that opening would be challenging due to the global and national situation and unfortunately this time the operating costs have overwhelmed us and are unsustainable.
“Thank you to all of our wonderful customers for your support and we are sorry that we can no longer serve the wonderful community of Boroughbridge.
“Thank you and goodbye from the Fryers Butchers team.”
Customers had rated the shop on Facebook with 5 stars.
At the opening last September it said: “The company is owned by Charles Fryer. Charles and his family have their own farm about 7 miles from the shop and raise their own cattle and pigs so we really know where our produce is coming from.”
