In addition to gelato, the gelateria also offers lunch—think Italian-inspired panini, flatbreads, sandwiches, salads, and poke bowls loaded with delicious local ingredients like Lombard mozzarella, prosciutto di Parma, mortadella di Bologna, porchetta, and dry-cured bresaola. roasted peppers, sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes.
Gelato is made differently to ice cream, using more milk, less cream and no egg yolks, and a different churning process introduces less air into the mixture, giving it a softer and creamier texture than the typical ice cream found in the UK .
Gelato Tutti only opened its first branch in 2021 and has since gone from strength to strength, expanding its offerings from gelato to authentic Italian pasta and takeaway pizza.
When Gelato Tutti opened its first store in Barnard Castle in summer 2021, its range was completely sold out – and with flavors including Pistachio Profiterole, Cherry Bakewell Tart and Turkish Delight, customers are expected to flock to the Darlington location too.
Their second location on Caste Hill in Richmond opened in May 2022.
Even before opening its Cockerton Village location, the company had ties to Darlington and donated over 500 pizza bags to the Kings Food Bank in the town.
