Kate Garraway tells how husband Derek was ‘stuck in no man’s land’ during airport disaster
Previously on ITVGood morning Great Britain (GMB), Kate revealed that she and Derek were traveling back from the United States as Heathrow Airport celebrated its new wheelchair passport scanners.
She said: “He walked forward, the door was locked but the disabled person has to open it and because of the border you are not allowed to do this yourself. So he was stuck in no man’s land, literally between two borders,” for about an hour.
“Even if conscious efforts were made to make things work, I wonder if that’s because not enough people with disabilities are talking about it.”
Kate regularly speaks about her husband Derek and shares health updates with her fans in interviews and on GMB. She has also released two documentaries on the subject: “Finding Derek” and “Caring for Derek.”
