Greenville Country Music Fest Was A Helluva Weekend

What a weekend.

Country Music Festival in Greenville was a hell of a time and last weekend me and some members of the Whiskey Riff team were lucky enough to attend the three day festival in beautiful Greenville, South Carolina.

And even though this particular festival is only in its third year, they’ve come a long way with an absolutely stacked line-up of headliners, including the greats Zach Bryan and Turnpike troubadoursas well as other amazing artists like The Marshall Tucker Band, ERNEST, Flatland Cavalry, Stoney LaRue, Larry Fleet, 49 Winchester, Charles Wesley Godwin, Them Dirty Roses, Carter Faith, Jonathan Peyton, The Piedmont Boys, Taylor Ingle, DJ Slim McGraw, Wein from Yesterday, Hayden Coffman and Faith Schueler.

When we heard about the top notch artists they are releasing this year, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see it for ourselves.

We literally settled into the CCNB Amphitheater at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, SC and we met and talked to some of our favorite artists, made friends with the fans, introduced the uninitiated to the whiskey riff and played insane amounts of beer-pong, it was one damn good time and i hope i can do it again.

This year over 14,000 people descended on the festival grounds for a weekend of great music and none of this would have been possible without the superstar team that makes this festival possible: Mike, Shannon and Zoe.

They are the best in the business and made sure we had everything we needed to make the weekend a success despite being insanely busy running around trying to get things done themselves .

We can’t thank them enough for all their help leading up to and over the past weekend.

And perhaps the funnest part of the festival for us, aside from listening to so much great music all day, was the chance to chat with some of our favorite artists about a variety of different things, including one of our most pressing questions:

“Fuck, Marry, Kill: Steel Guitar, Fiddle and Banjo.”

You can check out the great responses from Flatland Cavalry frontman Cleto Cordero, Charles Wesley Godwin, Seriousplus Grady Smith and Country Central, here:

We also sent some of our writers into the crowd to poll fans, which you can see here:

There’s still a lot more to do in terms of content, but I’d like to thank all the artists for taking some time out to talk to us during the festival and also some of them for rocking our merch on stage , like our boys from plains cavalry and 49 Winchester:

And quickly I would like to thank everyone on our Whiskey Riff team and photographer/videographer extraordinaire Axel Marcenaro who all worked so hard all weekend to help make this event a smashing success.

Greenville is such a fun and charming town, and I already know the lineup for 2023 is going to be just as badass as this one, so get your ass there if you can.

Thank you again for inviting us, GCMF. Cheers to you all for a damn good festival and a damn good time.

Hope to see you all back in South Carolina to do it all again next year.

And in case you missed it, here’s Zachs epic addition of “Revival” in the pouring rain from his Saturday night headlining set last weekend:
