Harry Kane: I wanted to win trophies at Tottenham but moving to Bayern will make me better

Arry Kane is convinced his move to Bayern Munich will make him an even better player and benefit England at next summer’s European Championship.
Kane joined the eternal Bundesliga champions from Tottenham in July on a contract worth at least £100million after spending nine years at his youth club without winning a trophy.
The England captain, who is preparing for Saturday’s Euro qualifier against Ukraine in Wroclaw, Poland, has already scored three goals in as many appearances for his new club and believes he can reach Euro 2024 if he is in an environment with plays under higher pressure, will be a better player takes place in Germany.
“I think it will,” Kane said. “Whether I win or not is the decision [to join Bayern] It was about putting me in those situations.
“At Bayern Munich we sometimes expect them to win because they won.” [the Bundesliga title] for 11 or 12 years or whatever.
“But in my short time there is still a lot of pressure to win these trophies. We haven’t won the trophy in a couple of years and we haven’t won the Champions League in a couple of years, so there’s definitely a lot to win and a lot of pressure to endure.
“Time will tell, but right now I’m enjoying that feeling.”
“It’s definitely a different pressure than Spurs. Of course we wanted to win at Spurs, but if you went a couple of games without a win, it wasn’t a disaster.”
“The feeling at Bayern is that you have to win every game. We won the first two games 4-0 and 3-1 and there were still rumors that we weren’t too happy with the way we played. That’s part of it.” one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“Of course the fact cannot be hidden [silverware] is the only thing missing from my career at the moment and when you have players [England] “You also want to be a part of it and have those experiences,” Kane added.
“Just the experience with title races and cup races and hopefully a Champions League race will hopefully only increase how you deal with pressure in certain situations. If we want to win something with England we have to deal with it.”
“As captain, I want to put myself in that position as much as possible.”
Over the years, Kane has watched several of his England team-mates win the game’s biggest trophies, including Kyle Walker, who left Spurs for Manchester City in 2017 and has won 13 major titles, including five league titles and the Champions League.
The 30-year-old admitted it occasionally “hurt” when his colleagues won silver medals and said it motivated him to lift his first club trophies with Bayern.
“As a participant, when the lads are playing the Champions League and I’m just sitting at home and watching, I’d be lying if I said there’s no part of me that hurts,” he said.
“Obviously I want them to do well — I want Kyle and all these guys to win if they’re in competitions that I’m not in — but a part of me wants to have that experience. The other players on the team did it.” I’m not sure if jealousy is the right word but it motivates me to keep going and trying to achieve some of the trophies that the boys have won.
It was long suspected that Kane was reluctant to leave English football while he continued his quest for an all-time Premier League goalscoring record, but he left Spurs just 47 goals behind Alan Shearer’s 260 aggregate.
“I think there’s been a lot of talk about it and getting closer to the goal, but I’ve never been someone who put individual awards before team awards,” Kane said.
“Ultimately it’s up to me to see how good I can be and I felt like I had to play Champions League football and fight for titles every year. Bayern Munich definitely gives me that.”
“The record would obviously be great and it could be great if I broke it one day. But that’s not the reason I play football and my move shows that.”
This year’s Champions League final will be played at Wembley Stadium, while the European Championship will be held in Kane’s new home, Germany. Kane is aware that it would be a screenwriter’s dream to achieve the double with Bayern and England.
“I was definitely told about the Champions League final at Wembley and I know that next summer the European Championship will be held in Germany. “So if anyone out there writes a movie, I’ll do my best to make it happen!” said Kane.
“It is difficult. There’s still so much time left that I don’t want to think about it too much, but if it happened it would be incredible.”
