HBO Max is raising subscription costs for the first time since launch in 2020

HBO Max will increase the cost of their subscription service.

The streaming platform announced this week that it plans to increase the monthly fee, and this is set to take effect in the near future.

This message comes as parent company Warner Bros. Discovery plans to release a one-of-a-kind merged streaming service combining both HBO Max and Discovery+, slated to launch this summer.

HBO Max announced that the new ad-free monthly subscription cost for existing subscribers will increase from $14.99 to $15.99 and will take effect in the next billing cycle on or after Saturday, February 11th.

According to the streamer, the increase will “allow us to continue investing in delivering even more culture-defining programming and improving our customer experience for all users.”
