“He got me” – Gangrel reveals former WWE Superstar stole his watch in an elaborate prank

Former WWE Superstar Gangrel shared a story about Owen Hart playing a prank on him that lasted several months.

Gangrel spent several years as the leader of the Brood faction at Christian and Edge until he was fired from the company in 2001. He had a second run with the company from 2004 to 2007 before being released again. Gangrel has since wrestled in the independent scene, recently appearing for All Elite Wrestling.

Speaking to fans at the K&S WrestleFest virtual meet and greet, Gangrel opened up about a backstage prank involving Owen Hart. The 53-year-old revealed he kept a watch in his dressing room which disappeared after he returned from a wrestling match. There were a few “little people” in the dressing room and Gangrel thought one of them stole the item.

The vampire warrior later realized that Owen was the one who had taken his watch all along after it was returned to him:

“I don’t know, four months go by or so, I dress in the same spot, I go wrestling. I come back, I go to get dressed and my watch is in … I walk out and as I walk past the exact same spot where the catering was and all, Owen says, ‘Hey Dave, what time is it ?’ ‘Oh!’ I didn’t sell it, I just told him what time it was and I left, and I’m like, ‘That damn son! He got me. H/T: Messages from the ring

Gangrel isn’t ruling out a return to WWE to help his former ally

Gangrel was asked during the meet and greet if he would ever consider returning to WWE to help out Edge.

The Rated-R superstar is currently embroiled in a bitter rivalry with the faction he founded, The Judgment Day. At WWE Extreme Rules, Edge fought Finn Balor in an I-Quit match.

The Ultimate Opportunist had to quit to protect his wife, Beth Phoenix. But Rhea Ripley still hit The Glamozon over the head with a steel chair after the match.

During the conversation at K&S Wrestlefest, Gangrel noted that he’s creeping up there in old age, but a return to WWE can’t be ruled out since he’s a vampire after all:

“No, no, I never say never, but I creep up with age,” Gangrel said. “But I’m a vampire, so keep catching and hitting.” H/D: Ringside News

Edge seems to have his hands full with The Judgment Day at the moment and could use his old friend’s help. Time will tell if Gangrel ever shows up in WWE again.
