“He’d be a wall unto himself”

Many agree that LA Lakers superstar LeBron James is an incredible athletic talent. As great as James is on the hardwood, sports analyst Skip Bayless believes the four-time champion could have shone in the world of football as well.

Watching James play basketball is one of the few privileges the world has right now. Even at 37, James is still one of the best players in the world. His athletic ability has earned him worldwide recognition and even non-NBA fans know him. Like other NBA superstars, James was not a one-sport player.

He played football for two seasons at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. Even in his short football career, James was able to showcase his other sporting talents. During those two seasons, James was named an All-Ohio wide receiver twice.

Even James thinks he could have become an NFL player if he chose football over basketball.

When asked about a football-related question about the 18-time All-Star, Bayless said:

“Even my husband LeShannon Sharpe thinks LeBron would struggle with the extreme physicality, that’s the National Football League. But I still believe… LeBron could have been at least as good, a pass catcher, not a blocker. but a pass-catching tight end like Jimmy Graham was.

“LeBron James could have been a Hall of Famer left tackle if he made that choice. … He would be a wall unto himself.”

What position could you see LeBron play in an NFL roster? “LeBron could have been a left tackle in the NFL Hall of Fame” – @RealSkipBayless

Whenever Bayless compliments James, it’s always a sight to behold. Bayless makes a point of James being a Hall of Famer talent on the football field.

LeBron James’ mission next season is to lead the Lakers back to the playoffs

The Lakers’ run last season was hard to watch as they tried to make things work with a bunch of old players. Also, Russell Westbrook’s fit was one of their main issues.

While the front office is trying to get a younger supporting cast to help James and co., it still doesn’t look like enough to get them where they want to go.

After winning the 2020 title in the bubble, everyone in Los Angeles looked tired. Given what they were up against, it’s understandable that their 2021 season ended in the first round of the playoffs. The same fate befell their 2020 Finals opponents, the Miami Heat.

However, trading key players for Westbrook was a mistake. Knowing they needed a shooter to spread the ground, it was a questionable move.

Now James and the Lakers will be closely watched as they try to recover.
