Helicopter crashes in field in North Yorkshire

A helicopter crashed into a field on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales today.

Just before midday, emergency services were rushed to the tiny village of Burton in Lonsdale, North Yorkshire.

Video of the aftermath of the incident showed at least four fire engines and an ambulance at the scene near Bentham Road.

The helicopter is said to have landed in a field near Rivers Edge Caravan Park.

North Yorkshire Police have urged people to avoid the area following the crash.
