As of Genshin Impact 3.0, there are two ways to get Midlander Billets. The first and most popular method is to convert Northlander Billets into them. Second, you can also get them from Vanarana’s Favor in the Tree of Dreams.
The average Genshin Impact player will most likely farm Northlander Billets and convert them into Midlander Billets to craft Sumeru’s unique weapons:
- forest insignia
- fruit of fulfillment
- squire of the king
- sapwood blade
This guide assumes you already have the diagrams for these weapons, which are otherwise available from Aravinay. Each diagram costs a Tales of You and the Aranara.
Farm Midlander Billets to craft Sumeru weapons in Genshin Impact
In order to refine craftable weapons, the player must craft at least five of the same items. For example, a player wanting to max out a Sapwood Blade would need five Midlander Billets to craft multiple times. Getting tickets is easier said than done.
Method #1 (Conversion)
All Midlander Billets can be forged by converting:
- A northerner of the same type
- Two dream solvents
The primary way to get Dream Solvents is by clearing weekly bosses. Likewise, the main way to get Northlander Billets is to do the same. Here is a list of the weekly bosses that count:
- Andrius (Challenge Wolf of the North)
- Azhdaha (Under the Dragonweller)
- Childe (Enter the Golden House)
- Dvalin (Confront Stormterror)
- La Signora (Narukami Island: Tenshukaku)
- Mikoto (End of Oneiric Euthymia)
Players can only farm weekly bosses once per week to receive their drops. It is recommended to clear them on the highest difficulty to get the best possible drops. Unlike the Tree of Dreams method, the decision to farm Northlander Billets and convert them is repeatable.
It is important to mention that this depends on the player’s luck. The necessary drops are not guaranteed. Players with access to fewer weekly bosses will also have fewer opportunities to farm these items.
Method #2 (Tree of Dreams)
Each level in Vanarana’s favor ending in “4” awards Genshin Impact players a Midlander Billet of some kind. Here’s a short list to keep in mind:
- Level 4: sword
- Level 14: Claymore
- Level 24: polearm
- Level 34: catalyst
- Level 44: bow
Genshin Impact 3.0 only goes up to level 20, but later updates will introduce more levels in the future. Note that these levels are a one-time bonus and are not repeatable.
Each level of the Dream Tree requires 35 Dendro Seals. The item can be obtained in a variety of ways, including:
- Various chests in Sumeru
- From the Sumeru Statue of the Seven
- Unique domains in Sumeru
It took 140 Dendro Sigils to get the first Midlander Sword Billet. For comparison, obtaining the Midlander Bow Billet in the Tree of Dreams requires 1,540 Dendro Sigils. This method requires some exploration, but is a solid option for Genshin Impact players who have run out of weekly bosses to farm the Northlander Billets and Dream Solvents.
