Visiting Lapland during the Christmas season is at the top of every child’s bucket list.
For tight-budget parents looking to give their little ones the best Santa experience, day trips from the UK are popular as a ‘cheaper’ option to overnight accommodation (although we know they’re still expensive).
Newmarket Holidays’ day trips to Lapland for 2023 are on sale now and thanks to the relatively reasonable price, they tend to sell out quickly.
The journey takes you 60 miles across the Arctic Circle into the remote heart of Swedish Lapland, where you’ll find Pajala – the secret home of the real Santa, his reindeer and his merry team of helpers.
With these specially chartered flights, you can take a day trip to Lapland in December next year.
During the day holidays, children can meet Santa Claus and the elves and receive a gift from the big man.
Day trips also include a ride in a traditional reindeer sled, a husky sled through the snow and a snowmobile ride.
Families are provided with some snacks and lunches, with vegetarian options also available.
It is important to remember that Lapland has extremely severe winter temperatures that usually range from 0 to -20°C but can reach -40°C.
Newmarket will provide warm thermal clothing, including gloves and boots, but guests are encouraged to bring layers and warm clothing.
Thermal wool socks, sweaters, snowshoes and ski wear are your safest bets.
If you’d rather enjoy a festive break this year, you can meet Santa in Chessington from £45 per person.
Meanwhile, Santa’s Sleepovers are back in Alton Towers, with stays from £104 per person including dinner and breakfast.
And Butlin’s is currently offering the best holiday deal ever.
