And yet here she was, 23 years old, dead and without a morning. Trace detailing who she was is sparse.

“We’re still trying to figure out who she was,” a police source said The Toronto Sun on condition of anonymity. “We have a definite opinion on this, but Viyaleta itself is a mystery.”

Lukoshka was found shot dead in her Etobicoke condo on the Park Lawn Rd.-Gardiner Expressway area in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Neighbors heard a loud bang and security forces found Lukoshka fighting for her life.

Sources said Lukoshka is from Eastern Europe, but when she arrived or how long she had been here, the answers to these questions are vague.

So far, the labor theory is that the pretty blonde may have been involved in sex work and that her murder could have stemmed from a date gone haywire.

“But you never really know. We can all guess what happened here, but at the moment there are no concrete answers,” the police source said.

“Viyaleta was a blip … she came here for some reason and now she’s dead. It’s a cliché, but she’s really a mysterious woman.”

About 17 minutes further north on the highway, another mystery began to unfold late Saturday night. 427.

Although they are united in death, the consequences of the violent deaths of the two young women could not be more different.

While the senseless killing of Lukoshka is steeped in loneliness, a wave of grief erupted on social media in the case of 24-year-old Adele Eid GoFundMe campaign.

According to police, officers were called to Humberwood, a neighborhood east of 427 and north of Rexdale Blvd, at around 11:15 p.m. in a deserted suburb.

In a bullet-riddled white SUV, they found Adele Eid, mortally wounded from gunshot wounds. Efforts to rescue her were in vain and she was dead at the scene of the accident.

“My sister was caring, loving, supportive and smart. She opened her heart to everyone she met. Her friends and family meant everything to her and she made sure we were all safe and that she would do anything for all of us,” wrote her younger sister Daniela on the family’s GoFundMe page.

She added: “Adele’s heart was the greatest. No matter what situation she found herself in, she put others ahead of herself. She was hardworking, goal-oriented, and creative. My sister had so much left to live and was taken away too soon.”

Now the police are trying to find out who led to Adele’s murder and why. So far, investigators have been silent.

“We’re still trying to piece this whole thing together,” the police source said. “It’s a strange case. They both are.”

Two murders, different, both with the same result.

A young woman who died long before her time in the big city. And in death we are all equally alone.

Anyone with leads is asked to contact police at 416-808-7400 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
