Hunter Sneaks Up With A Decoy & Grabs Wild Turkey With His Bare Hands

Using bait can be a little art.

Make sure you set them up realistically to fool the incredibly intelligent animals we’re chasing. Using these things to further fool an animal and get at very close ranges is even more impressive.

This video right here is the ultimate use of bait, I don’t know many people who could pull this off and even come within a few feet of a wild turkey like this.

The video begins by watching a group of Jakes come in and look at them. After a few sips, you see the bait and realize that a hunter is behind it.

Within a minute, the hunter makes his best turkey impression, hides behind the bait, and crawls toward the flock of birds.

Apparently the show was very believable, he comes within a few feet of the birds but… they still seem a little tired.

You see his hand begin to wrap around the bait. Just as the Jake turns to run, the man grabs his leg and pulls it in for control. He grabs it by the legs and neck and holds it up like a championship trophy.

One might wonder why this would ever happen, and the two involved summed up the story:

“Due to the virus, Kyle and I were working remotely. We were able to leave early so after the passing rain we decided to go turkey hunting.

When we finally heard the roar of the eaters, we knew we were going to double. The Jakes had full gulps. As they rounded the corner, we realized it was a group of Jakes. Kyle always mentioned catching one behind my bait.

At that time, I grabbed my phone and he grabbed the camera. The rest is history.”

I think when you have something planned and the opportunity presents itself, you have to jump. And that’s exactly what this guy did.

Don’t try it at home, it probably won’t go so well every time. Hunter Sneaks Up With A Decoy & Grabs Wild Turkey With His Bare Hands
