I booked a great day trip to Italy for £100 – which included flights, food and even a spa

A WOMAN has revealed she flew to Italy for the day – and she said it was cheaper than a day trip to London.

She shared her trip on TikTok after deciding to spend her day off at a spa in Italy with her mother and sister.

Yasmine Polson, who goes by yaasminnex on the social media platform, posted a video of herself and her family flying from Gatwick Airport to Milan Malpensa.

A caption above the video read: “You didn’t know what to do with your day off in the UK so you booked a £30 flight to Milan.”

The footage was then shown Yasmine and her family walk through London airport before boarding their flight there Italy.

After landing in Milan, they headed to QC Termemilano – an Italian spa with 27 different wellness rooms.

Spa tickets cost £55 per person and include access to the spa, a bathrobe, a towel, a pair of slippers and some drinks and snacks.

Although this was the biggest expense of their day trip to Milan, it was their only activity.

Yasmine told Kennedy News Media: “There are around 27 different wellness rooms [at the spa]including different types of immersive saunas and steam rooms.

“There are these outdoor pools that are really like that Pretty. You feel like you are in ancient Rome. So we just spent time there relaxing.

“There are indoor pools, sort of a tunnel, which are pretty cool.”

In the comments of her video, which has been viewed more than 270,000 times, Yasmine explained some of her spending costs.

Her return flight and spa cost £85 each, while a return ticket from the airport to Milan city center cost £17.

This meant Yasmine and her family spent £102 each on their day trip to Italy.

Yasmine explained: “I just wasn’t sure what I wanted to do [on my day off]and I didn’t want to just sit at home, so I looked on Skyscanner and saw there was a cheap flight and thought, “Why not?”

While Yasmine’s work colleagues were shocked by her day trip, they were also inspired by her adventure.

She added: “The journey from Croydon to London and back alone costs £10 and the journey from London costs £30.”

“It’s 100 percent cheaper to go to Milan than to spend a day trip in London.”

“I would definitely advise other people to do it, we met a couple who actually did the same thing, they were on the flight with us in the morning and came back with us in the evening.”

“It was a relaxing day and a really luxurious spa. I’m not entirely sure why it’s so cheap, but hopefully it stays that cheap.”

Both Ryanair and easyJet offer direct flights to Milan from the UK. Prices start from £15 for a one-way ticket.

Earlier this year, another woman flew to Pisa for a day after deciding to fulfill one of her lifelong dreams and see the Leaning Tower.

Brits have also flown for a day trip to other parts of Europe, including Ibiza and Mallorca.

Meanwhile, a British woman revealed earlier this year that she only spent £23 on a day flight to Lanzarote – and even managed to have a few cocktails on the beach.
