Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged Manchester United to sign Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane in a player-plus-cash deal with Anthony Martial in the near future.
29-year-old Kane has been one of the best forwards in the world since breaking into the Spurs first-team in the 2013-14 season. He has scored 266 goals and provided 62 assists in 415 games for his club.
Martial, on the other hand, has flown hot and cold for the Red Devils since joining from AS Monaco in 2015 in a deal worth up to £58m. He is coming off another frustrating season, with a host of injuries limiting him to just six this time the Premier League starts.
Speaking of Wrighty’s house Podcast Wright claimed Manchester United should offer Tottenham Hotspur a fee of around £60m plus Martial to nab Erik ten Hag’s top target. He stated:
“If you look at Manchester United’s development and where they’re going… get Kane for three years. United will definitely do something because they’re not a million miles away at the moment.”
“I’m confused how the speculation came out, it must have come from his camp. But now if United come in let’s say they put £60m on the table and throw Martial in, that’s a very good deal.”
Predicting Kane’s influence at Old Trafford, Wright continued:
“I think Spurs fans will say, ‘Good luck, Harry.’ If United are seriously thinking about what they need next, it’s number nine. To me, bringing Kane seems like a no-brainer. He’s taking them somewhere else. It’s kind of a commitment.”
“When it happens the dressing room at Old Trafford starts buzzing because they know an elite striker is coming in and he’s going to win their games.”

Paul Merson advises Manchester United to spend £100m on Harry Kane
In his column for Sky Sports, Arsenal legend Paul Merson insisted Manchester United should inject the money for Kane. He wrote:
“If I’m Manchester United, I’ll spend £100m on Kane tomorrow. They just paid £80m for Antony and he won’t score as many goals in 10 years as Kane does in one season for United.”
“Kane can play until he’s 37 because he doesn’t need to have pace – his game isn’t about pace. He’s got the brains, he can come up short, find the passes and score goals. He has everything.”
Kane, who has a contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until June 2024, has scored 16 goals in 21 Premier League games this season.
