In the trailer for “Femme,” a drag queen seeks revenge in a twisted thriller
The official trailer for Woman is here, teasing a strange revenge story that’s anything but simple.
Woman follows Jules (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett), a drag performer whose confidence is seriously shaken after he falls victim to a violent homophobic attack. Three months later, he finally finds the strength to leave his apartment and visit a gay sauna, where he meets Preston (George MacKay) – a closeted man and perpetrator of the hate crime.
Preston doesn’t recognize Jules when he comes out of the drag scene, creating an unexpected opportunity for the latter to enact his revenge. But the more Jules integrates into Preston’s life, the more complex the relationship between the two becomes. It’s not uncommon to be drawn to danger, but Woman seems to take the idea much further than usual.
The trailer contains some foul language and violence. So be careful if you are sensitive to it. However, given the plot, this shouldn’t be a surprise.
