Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former President Donald Trump, died Thursday after falling down the stairs of her New York City apartment, the city’s coroner said Friday.
Trump, 73, suffered blunt impact injuries to his torso in the fall. Her death was ruled an accident by the New York Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Donald Trump announced the death of his ex-wife on Thursday on his social media portal Truth Social.
“I am very sad to announce to everyone who loved her, of whom there are many, that Ivana Trump passed away at her home in New York City,” he said in the Post. “She was a wonderful, beautiful and amazing woman who lived an amazing and inspiring life. Her pride and joy were her three children Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. She was as proud of her as we were all so proud of her. Rest in peace, Ivana!”
Ivana Marie Zelníčková was born in Czechoslovakia and emigrated to Canada and eventually the United States in the 1970s.
