While it’s not ideal for a ballet dancer, she said there’s one particular item that has helped her on long flights.

She told Conde Nast Traveler, “I’ve always had a sluggish lymphatic system and my legs swell very easily when I fly.

“These compression leggings are a game changer for on-airplane swelling.”

She said she swears by her Ricari compression leggings, even though they cost you $150.

We’ve found some that are much cheaper.

Amazon offers women’s compression leggings from as little as £8.99, while men have similar leggings from £8.50.

Other travelers also swear by compression leggings on flights.

Model Karlie Kloss told Travel + Leisure that putting on compression tights is the first thing she does when boarding a long-haul flight.

Experts swear by compression stockings or leggings to help prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a serious condition.

It’s common for people to remain inactive, especially on long-haul flights.

The science behind this is quite simple: by gently applying pressure to the muscles in your lower legs, they can increase blood flow, which in turn reduces the risk of deep vein thrombosis.

Another traveler revealed the clever flight socks she always packs.
