I’ve tried Costa Coffee’s autumn menu and I want it to stay

With that, Costa Coffee has launched its Fall 2023 menu and I decided to give it a try.

The coffee chain regularly releases themed menus throughout the season and this year the Maple Hazel range has returned, with some new items also being added.

Here’s what I thought about the Fall 2023 menu at Costa Coffee.

Costa Coffee releases the food and drink menu for fall 2023

When I saw that Costa Coffee had unveiled the fall menu, I wasn’t sure about the Maple Hazel products since the “hazel” part of the name refers to the roasted hazelnut syrup.

I’m someone who doesn’t like the taste of nuts in food or drink, but I was very curious and thought why not give it a try? – I love trying new foods and drinks, so I was up for it.

I was surprised (very positively) by the autumn range and will be returning to Costa Coffee for one more fall treat before the Christmas range hits the menu.

Since there are both sweet and savory treats and drinks on the menu, I decided to try a good variety of these including Hog Roast Toastie, Maple Hazel Frappé, Maple Hazel Muffin and more.

What I thought about the new autumn menu at Costa Coffee

Roast Pork Toastie

The roast pork toastie is great for warming up in the winter, but is also perfect when you want a light bite to eat.

This toastie features bloomer bread topped with garlic and herbs, filled with hickory pulled pork, spiced apple glaze, caramelized onion chutney, sage and onion filling, and oak-smoked cheddar.

Really enjoyed trying it as it was packed with flavor and reminded me of a Sunday roast at home with my family, mostly due to the flavor of the sage and onion filling.

Maple Hazel Muffin

I then tried the Maple Hazel Muffin and was impressed with its soft sponge cake base and maple syrup filled center which was a nice surprise.

In keeping with the fall theme, it was topped with icing and an edible leaf decoration.

It’s a very good size and although it had little nuts inside I really liked it and would love to have it again but wouldn’t be in too much of a hurry to buy it.

Chocolate hazel frappe and maple hazel frappe

Now on to the drinks and wow, I didn’t expect them to taste so good!

I mean, I love a Costa Coffee frappé, but I wasn’t sure the Maple Hazel versions would be as good as the regular menu options.

I’ve tried the Chocolate Hazel Frappé and the Maple Hazel Frappé, the latter being my favorite of the two.

Made with toasted hazelnut syrup and maple sauce topped with whipped cream and a fall-colored cookie topping, the Maple Hazel Frappé is divine!

I really enjoyed the nutty taste of this drink which was a nice surprise.

In my opinion it was a very nice twist on the frappés that are available all year round.

However, I lacked flavor for the chocolate maple frappé as I could taste more chocolate and not much of the maple flavor came through.

However, I think it would be a good option for those who want to try the menu but are a bit unsure about the maple and hazelnut flavors.

Hot maple hazel chocolate

Since I don’t drink tea or coffee (rude, I know) and love hot chocolate, I couldn’t help but try the Maple Hazel Hot Chocolate.

Similar to the Maple Hazel Frappé, the hot chocolate is made with toasted hazelnut-flavored syrup and maple sauce, and has been topped with whipped cream and the fall cookie crunch.

Although this had a more subtle flavor, the maple flavors paired really well with the hot chocolate.

So when the fall weather gets cooler again, I’ll be using these as my new favorite hot chocolate.

In short, I will be sad when this seasonal menu leaves Costa Coffee and can only hope that it returns soon.
