Jaffa Cakes: I compared the raspberry, cherry and orange flavors
And rightly so, as chocolate cake should always be celebrated for its traditional orange flavor.
Whether it’s a cake or a cookie has been a serious debate among the general public for years and with that in mind, I thought I’d get to the bottom of another matter.
A new raspberry flavor from Jaffa Cakes was recently launched in the UK and sparked a glowing idea in my head – how do the latest new flavors compare to the original?

It’s a task I enjoyed doing, so I spent days visiting supermarkets and corner stores to find as many flavors as possible.
The raspberry filled Jaffa cakes have only been available in Asda since the end of August, but are coming to market in Tesco and Co-op from September and Sainsbury’s from October.
Luckily it was a success and my local Asda had them in stock.
After further research and searching for the latest creations like lemon, lime and blackcurrant, I gave up and decided to try raspberry and cherry Jaffa cake with the original orange filling.

How do raspberry and cherry Jaffa cakes compare to the original orange flavor?
I tried the raspberry Jaffa cakes first and was pleased to notice a tangy, fruity flavor.
It also reminded me of a raspberry yogurt, which I wasn’t mad about since I eat large amounts of it every week.
Then I moved on to the cherry flavor and it blew me away a bit as it had the flavor of a Jammie Dodger with the texture of a Jaffa cake (I hope it sticks around).
Finished off with the characteristic orange sweet treatAs soon as I took a bite, I immediately realized why no other flavor can match the McVitie’s legend.

The citrus jelly center mixed with chocolate and a soft sponge The base could never be replaced, all elements should be together for a reason.
Although I may have a preference for a raspberry or cherry alternative in the future, there is nothing quite like it.
Are Jaffa Cakes a cookie or a cake?
McVities has been making Jaffa cakes since 1927, but was challenged by Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise in 1991 for labeling the product as a “cake”. Kersey’s lawyers.
The legal experts added: “During the court battle between Mcvitie’s and Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise, Mcvitie’s baked a giant Jaffa cake to prove that Jaffa cakes were really cakes and not cookies.
“It was a long and costly battle, but McVities finally had great success and Jaffa Cakes were finally recognized as a chocolate covered cake.
“Now Jaffa cakes, worth £1.19 billion produced each year, are exempt from excise duty.”
