Jet2 launches flights to Morocco from Leeds Bradford Airport
The airline and operator have confirmed that they will offer year-round flights to the sunny destination of Agadir on Morocco’s west coast from next October.
The introduction of air and holiday travel to Agadir makes this an exclusive route from Leeds Bradford Airport.
Nicola McMullen, aviation director at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “We are delighted to add Agadir to our growing list of fantastic destinations.”
“This is the first time we are offering flights to Morocco. Holidaymakers from Yorkshire and beyond now benefit from easy access to Agadir’s magnificent golden Atlantic beaches, colorful souks and ancient sites and museums.
“We look forward to welcoming passengers heading to Africa next year.”
Steve Heapy, managing director of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, added: “We are delighted to be able to offer customers and independent travel agents even more choice at Leeds Bradford Airport thanks to the launch of Morocco as a brand new destination.”
“With the exclusive year-round availability of the magical destination of Agadir, we are giving holidaymakers access to a truly wonderful and famous holiday hotspot.
“We’re incredibly excited about this new destination – and know how popular it will be with our customers.”
He added: “This latest expansion demonstrates the strength of our growing business and comes as customers and independent travel agents across the region continue to choose to travel with us.”
“Our award-winning offering clearly continues to delight holidaymakers and we look forward to welcoming even more customers on board with the launch of this latest, brand new destination.”
Jet2 will operate year-round flights from Leeds Bradford Airport to Agadir from October 3, 2024, with weekly Thursday flights operating until November 13, 2025.
Customers can choose from almost 20 hotels in Agadir on Jet2holidays, with a wide range of quality hotels – mostly 4-star hotels and above.
A spokesperson for both companies said: “Agadir is Morocco’s most popular choice for a beach holiday.”
“Located on the west coast of Morocco, Agadir’s biggest draw is a 9km long golden sand beach dotted with hotels, water parks and a selection of incredible bars and restaurants.
“Holidaymakers can not only enjoy the sand and surf, but also discover Agadir and its souks, minarets and tea cafes.
“Customers can also visit the relaxed fishing village of Taghazout or the traditional Immi Ouaddar.”
