Current interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley broke the fourth wall for fans after the final episode of Dynamite blew up when he dropped the name of top WWE star Cody Rhodes.
After Chris Jericho defeated his Blackpool Combat Club stablemate Wheeler Yuta in the August 3 show’s main event, Moxley ran to the ring to chase off “The Wizard,” leading to a duel that built their altercation on Dynamite next week .
After the show went off the air, Moxley addressed fans and thanked them for attending, before being interrupted by The Factory’s QT Marshall.
Corresponding Rick Ucchino of Cageside Seatsattending the event, QT attempted to poke fun at the city of Columbus, Ohio, which prompted Moxley to say the following:
“Hey guys, this is QT… he’s the guy who used to wet wipe Cody Rhodes’ asshole.”
Marshall is a longtime friend of the “American Nightmare,” who has been named on AEW-TV on various occasions since his departure from the company in February 2022.
Jon Moxley has a very busy week ahead at AEW
2022 was one of the most uninterrupted years Jon Moxley has had in his entire career. He’s popped up on various promotions and lined up Match of the Year contenders everywhere, with his AEW run being his crown jewel.
That run in AEW continues over the next seven days with two extremely high-quality matches, both of which have huge implications for the title.
In the upcoming episode of AEW Rampage, Moxley will face off against GCW standout Mance Warner in a title eliminator that will see Warner earn a future title shot if he clinches the win.
Mox will then defend his title against Chris Jericho on Dynamite’s “Quake by the Lake” special, in their first one-on-one meeting since the main event of the 2020 pay-per-view tournament.
