Joy Behar Accidentally Exposes Just How Out of Touch She Is by Blasting Americans for Their Election Priorities

Americans probably didn’t need a reminder of how out of touch Joy Behar is, but that has never stopped her.

Behar, who is very well paid to voice her unfounded opinions on The View, simply fails to understand how everyday American voters can put their ability to put food on the table over threats to American democracy.

“Well, what’s depressing is that the New York Times released a poll today that says 71 percent of voters agree democracy is in jeopardy,” she said on Tuesday’s show, according to a Newsbusters transcript . “But only 7 percent of voters rank a threat to democracy as the top issue this election cycle.

“I find this so depressing, I can’t even tell you.”

Was she looking for sympathy? I hope not. But she did at least get approval from co-host Sunny Hostin — who should have been more upbeat with a name like that.

“It’s depressing,” she said.

“Well,” Behar continued, “you can debate the poll, but that’s what people say. I mean, I get it, inflation has gotten people – when you can’t put food on the table it’s very depressing, and when you put gas in your car and inflation and rents, it all piles up for various reasons.”

She listed the pandemic and the war in Iraq – correcting herself to Ukraine – as two of those “different reasons,” conveniently omitting the stimulus funds that most serious economists agree are significantly contributing to the country’s current economic woes country have contributed.

And by “most serious economists” I mean basically anyone with an economics degree other than Paul Krugman.

Yes, Joy, it can be depressing when you don’t have enough money for food, lodging, and transportation. You wouldn’t know a thing about it, but I can’t fault your logic here – such deprivations are depressing, especially when they could have been avoided if responsible adults had set tax policy.

Is inflation your main voting issue for November?

She ranted about what she actually seems to think the Republicans will do once they regain control of Congress, implying, for example, that they will immediately eliminate all corporate taxes and starve schoolchildren.

“They won’t help you! So why would you vote for her? And yet I see it’s very close that people don’t understand what’s at stake,” she said, before repeating, “And I find it sad and depressing.”

To her credit, Alyssa Farah Griffin has fought back what she called a potential “blind spot” among the wealthy co-hosts of The View, and has predictably been attacked by those I will euphemistically call her peers. You can watch the excerpt here:

Of course, Americans do understand what’s at stake. We understand that “they won’t help you!” applies to pretty much every government in the history of governments. That is why America was founded to protect and preserve the freedom of the individual American to help itself.

Leftists like Behar want those freedoms removed so that they, the groupthink cultists who worship at the altar of the zeitgeist, can foist on you what they believe is best for you. Some of them are probably sincere in this desire; others are cynical, lying opportunists. I suspect Behar is the former, but it doesn’t matter – whether they mean it for your good or their own, the left’s agenda of depriving you of your freedom is evil at its core. The intentions are irrelevant.

So we are reminded once again that people like Behar – who reportedly brings in $7 million a year to rant about your misplaced priorities – are out of touch with the thoughts and concerns of everyday Main Street Americans.

Not that we needed the memory.
