Kate is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and looks stunning in green

The Princess of Wales has taken part in the Royal Family tradition of attending the Irish Guard’s St Patrick’s Day Parade at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, Hampshire.

It is Kate’s first time taking part in the parade as the new Colonel in the Irish Guards and she handed out traditional shamrock branches to the officers and guardsmen.

Kate usually wears a green outfit for the event and this year was no exception.

For the 2023 parade, the 41-year-old chose a teal coat by Catherine Walker, accessorized with a sculptural hat by Jane Taylor and suede heels in a similar hue.

It’s a lighter shade than we’ve seen before in royal attire to celebrate the event – here are some of the other stylish green looks Kate has chosen for St Patrick’s Day over the years…

2012

For her debut appearance, a year after marrying the Prince of Wales, Kate chose a dark green coat from one of her favorite designers: Emilia Wickstead.

She styled the fitted coat with a brown pillbox hat, black suede pumps, a shamrock brooch and a sprig of real shamrocks.

2014

In 2014, the then Duchess of Cambridge combined different shades of green.

She paired her emerald Hobbs trench coat with suede pumps and a Gina Foster bow-tie hat.

2017

In 2017, Kate turned to another favorite designer, Catherine Walker, who created a tailored green coat.

The double breasted design featured shiny gold buttons and black collar and cuffs.

2018

During her pregnancy with Prince Louis in 2018, Kate opted for a maternity coat, also by Catherine Walker.

Going for a more wintry look, she paired the faux fur-trimmed coat with black tights, heels and gloves, and the same Gina Foster hat first worn in 2014.

2019

Kate opted for a sleek, modern look in 2019, donning a coat by Alexander McQueen, the brand that created her wedding dress.

She styled the chic coat – featuring sharp shoulders, a clean silhouette and military-esque accents – with block-heeled pumps and a hat embellished with floral details.

2022

Kate returned to the parade after being canceled for two straight years due to the pandemic, and is continuing her green fashion tradition in 2022.

The mother-of-three opted for another military-inspired design, wearing a midi length coat by aptly named British designer Laura Green with matching suede heels from Emmy London and a pillbox hat from Lock & Co.
